On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, the Belgrade Open School organized the Youth2Business event for the eighth time in a row as part of the sixth multi-congress - Serbian Visions. This year's theme of the event was "Career development during the pandemic".
Participants and lecturers were divided into four Breakout rooms in Zoom and each group had 20 minutes to talk about a certain topic. After 20 minutes lecturers were moved to the next breakout room and the whole process was repeated four times. In this way, young people and experts from various fields gathered there and discussed how the pandemic affected the employment of young people in companies, the development of entrepreneurial ideas and freelance jobs.
Aleksandra Zdravković, Client Service Coordinator, opened the event and welcomed the participants and speakers.
This year, participants had the opportunity to talk to the following speakers:
- Monika Pejčić, Human Resources Director, Delta Holding;
- Bojana Jevtović, Project Manager, Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation;
- Lazar Lekić, Strategic Project Coordinator, Association of Young Businessmen of Serbia;
- Janko Glavonjic, Freelance Creative Writer.
This event aimed to bring young people closer to the labor market and to show them what skills are important for career management, especially in this very uncertain period caused by the pandemic. The Youth2Business allowed interested participants to discuss how to adapt to the new situation, and how to start their career, whether they see themselves in a company, whether they want to develop their entrepreneurial idea or become a freelancer. BOS wanted to encourage young people to continue with hard work on their careers, to create new opportunities, and to overcome this situation in the best way.
The Youth2Business event has so far connected more than 320 young people and over 40 representatives of the business sector. In addition to having the opportunity to hear more about the speaker's career experience, participants were able to ask them questions about the topic and learn more about how to develop their careers.
