Description
Most managers in executive positions claim that it is overwhelming and that there is not enough time. Meetings, dealing with crisis situations, managing a great number of people, monitoring results, incessant activities and demands put before them don’t leave enough time for taking a look at themselves, their obligations and results, as well as their teams, and all this at the expense of interpersonal relationships and long-term goals. Managers in higher positions really do work in a dynamic and demanding environment where it seems they are forced to carry the weight of their company on their shoulders. But is that really how it is? Though their responsibility is great, they are not paid to achieve what will inevitably be achieved, that is, those activities and work routines which are realized even without their supervision. When the system is set, the roles and assignments clearly designated, the goals determined, and performance and result assessment well defined, how can managers better manage their time and the time of their teams?
The goal of this training is to point out the biggest ‘ailments’ afflicting managers in higher executive positions when time management is concerned, and to help them see their responsibilities from another perspective so that they would have more time to create new values/ideas for a better balance between their professional and personal life, and for a more effective way of performing the leader role. More recent research has ‘busted the myth’ about leaders working 12 hours and sleeping for 3 hours, because it has shown that a lack of sleep, rest and relaxation do not make for a good leader.
