EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IN FUTURE STUDIES

Future Studies is an educational program in which knowledge is shared in a unique and different way. But, Future Studies is also a place where one socializes and learns through a multitude of extracurricular and free activities.

During the second part of the spring semester 2021 of Future Studies, students had the opportunity to participate in various extracurricular activities. At the beginning of June, as part of a special lecture called Visual Identity of Belgrade - From Past to Future, Ana Samardzic, an art historian, brought the history of Belgrade closer to the current generation, but also spoke more about its culture in art through time. By the way, it was one of the first occasions when we were finally able to get together in person after more than 9,000 minutes spent on Zoom. :)

For all those who wanted to try their hand at financial and business modeling, BOS and NPV improved their cooperation this year and gave students the opportunity to try themselves in the role of a coach for new and innovative startups. At the final event, we heard the great results that the students achieved with the representatives of SINA Academy, who gather various social enterprises in their incubator. Here is what our student Ana Bogićević said about her experience during this program: "I applied for this program out of sheer curiosity. The program was presented in such a way where most of the terms were unknown to me. Financial and business modeling was unthinkable for me at that time, considering that I have no prior knowledge in either area. I am aware that no prior knowledge was needed, but part of me certainly panicked. After several hours of training, which included lectures, case studies, and group exercises, the seven of us who were interested in the program adopted some basic knowledge in these areas. The next step was to communicate with the companies that were assigned to us and to start working on our own. At the last meeting with our mentors, who explained to us how the whole process that will follow will go, we all had only one question in mind, and that is "Are we really going to lead this process on our own ?!" Although this coaching process had a clear structure and strategy, many unforeseen circumstances forced us to improvise, change and adapt, which I think is a great learning experience for young people like members of all other teams and me. ”

On the other hand, for all those who wanted to adopt the Design Thinking methodology, BOS, in cooperation with Smart Kolektiv, organized a three-day workshop. During those three days, we adopted the DT methodology but also tried to solve environmental problems related to throwing away excess food as well as finding more sustainable ways to buy clothes.
