Academy for Young Leaders in Civil Society visited BOS

Belgrade Open School hosted alumni and students of Academy for Young Leaders in Civil Society from Sarajevo on October 1. This was an opportunity to speak about nonformal education in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia and to share their experiences and knowledge with the BOS team, alumni and students. At the Belgrade Open School premises, a joint meeting between guests from Sarajevo and BOS employees, current and former students was held with the idea to foster deeper links and cooperation between nonformal education programmes in the region. BOS Executive Director Milorad Bjeletić greeted the guests and held an introductory speech. He reminded of the challenges and incentives the work in the third sector brings, stressing the importance of belief in the possibility of positive change in society. Evica Kuč, Communications and Development Manager, presented key strategic goals BOS works on, while Adnan Pripoljac, a Project Coordinator, and Emir Zulejhić, the alumnus, presented the work of the Academy for Young Leaders in Civil Society.

Guests from Sarajevo had the opportunity to learn about the Future Studies, one year programme of nonformal education, which just enrolled its XXVII generation. Alumni and students shared their experiences, ideas and proposals regarding these education programmes. Afterward, they continued socializing in a more informal atmosphere.

The visit was realized as a part of a larger regional visit the Academy for Young Leaders in Civil Society is conducting. The visit provided BOS, one of the regional leaders in nonformal education, with an opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation and share some of the insights acquired  during its 27 years of experience.
