Jobs 4.0 - I Have the Idea!

The Future Studies team participated in an eco-summer camp for innovation and IT entrepreneurship called I have an idea. On that occasion, Jelena Sapic, the coordinator of the BOS educational programme, discussed the future of jobs and skills.

What are new professions and what the future holds for new generations were the two main questions that framed the interactive discussion with teenagerss. Various studies have shown that in the future, those who have different interests and skills are more likely to succeed because they are more able to shape their unique profile. Thanks to a variety of interests, skills and knowledge, they can bring them together in a novel way that may create new discipline.

During the three weeks of intensive training at the Summer Innovation Camp, elementary and high school students will learn how to solve the problem of circular economicy (a new approach that integrates economics and waste management) by designing and programming a mobile application. The camp program consists of three eco-design components - Circular Solutions for the Future, Mobile Application Programming in the MIT App Inventor Tool, and Prototype Design and Business Plan Development.

KidHub, children's creative hub and partner of Belgrade Open School for internships, has organized the first eco-summer camp on innovation and IT entrepreneurship. The camp called I Have the Idea is designed for teenagers and takes place from August 9 to August 31 in two locations - Radulovacki Ecological Center and Impact Hub. The central theme is circular economy (the 12th United Nations Sustainable Development Goal) because it is one of the key themes for the survival of the living world on planet and a great opportunity to create creative jobs of the future that are important for children and young people. Upon completion of the camp, the best solution will be announced at the final event on August 31, and one of them will get a chance to be realized thanks to the camp partners.
