Students of the Department for Advanced Undergraduate Studies (DAUS) Belgrade Open School during the first semester of the academic 2011/2012 had the opportunity to hear speakers on modules "Civic culture and values" and "European integration".
The aim of the module "Civic culture and values" was to introduce students to the values of civil society and encourage them to participate in building a modern, democratic society in Serbia. Carrying out the teaching of the module enables students to: learn about the elements of civil society and the values and assumptions of its development, familiar with the conditions of formation and functioning of democratic political culture, learn about the development of citizenship in Serbia to encourage social engagement.
The aim of the module "European integration" was to enable students to participate in building a modern, demkratskog Serbian society and contribute to the process of European integration of Serbia. Carrying out the program, students had the opportunity to: learn about the process of European unity after World War II; enable them to critically reflect on the functioning of EU policies; familiar with the concepts and relevant literature in the field of European integration; enable them to participate actively in the process of European integration.
Students were able to attend various special lectures in the Alumni program, every Monday from 20:30, a monologue"The political graveyard" of the actor of the National Theatre in Belgrade, Mr. Tadic Ljubivoje, and panel discussion on "The Church and the Challenges of the media".
The students had an obligation to write essays on topics from both modules.
When it comes to elective and extracurricular activities, in addition to psychological workshops and classes, French language, students gathered at the sports activities (bowling and table tennis - BOS OPEN 2011) and parties.
Lecturers in the spring semester started on Monday, Februar 20th 2012.
