I studied economics before applying to CEU, so I enrolled in the Master program at the Department of International Relations and European Studies, which helped me to get a political science perspective of what I had learned by then. I wanted to learn something new and my main motive for applying to CEU was exactly the academic aspect that helped me to deepen my knowledge.

I applied to CEU also because I wanted to meet people from different countries and cultures. Getting to and socialize with people from different parts of the world is definitely what makes CEU special. Social life at the University is very rich, and the experience of living in the student dormitory gives a special note to my entire impression.

As for the system of work at CEU, it is quite different from the one in Serbia. The system at CEU actually represents the American education system, because the CEU is accredited in the United States and it is much more organized than our own Bologna system. Future students have to be ready to start studying and working regularly because there are a lot of obligations from the very beginning. There are no exams in the form that we are used to here in Serbia, it is all done in a single breath. This system forces you to constantly learn and work on time. The big difference is that a large number of activities are organized through some kind of team work, group work, presentations. A lot of term papers have to be written and only a small number of exams are taken orally. These are some of the main differences compared to our education system. I think the system of work at CEU is much better because of students graduating with more practical knowledge above all.

I would recommend everyone to apply to CEU first of all because the University mainly offers a lot of opportunities and interesting programs, but it the financial aspect is also very important, given that the majority of students at CEU are provided with some kind of financial support. Last year over 85% of students received some form of financial aid. CEU provides students with a good basis for further academic advancement and offers great opportunities for employment. I even plan to go back there to doctoral studies. As for the application process, I advise future students to thoroughly study the website and go through all the available information and finally to have faith in themselves and in their knowledge.
