Educational institutions and organizations in Serbia, as well as international foundations and organizations, are actively working on promoting the academic mobility of young people, but also on providing students with the necessary information and scholarships for studying abroad. Below are presented some of the organizations with which BOS cooperates in order to improve the awareness of young people of the opportunities for the academic development at higher education institutions abroad.
Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia
Fund for Young Talents was established in 2008 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in order to systematically support young people in Serbia. The Fund annually awards scholarships to about 2,500 students. Since 2001, the fund awards talented pupils and students scholarships symbolically named "Dositeja".
For the past several years, Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Serbia has been awarding scholarships to socially and politically engaged and talented final year students, postgraduates and doctoral students who are studying in the Republic of Serbia, as well as scholarships to support their continuing education abroad.
The Foundation Tempus is responsible for implementing the youth component within the framework of the Erasmus+ EU project in the field of education, youth and sport. Foundation is also responsible for the implementation of the Central European Exchange Program for Students and Faculty (CEEPUS). Individuals interested in various types of fully funded mobilities within Erasmus+ and CEEPUS can be informed through the Tempus Foundation website and its regular activities.
The aim of the Center is to provide information in relation to higher education institutions in the United States of America. The center organizes group counseling regarding the undergraduate and graduate studies in the USA, as well as preparatory classes for taking the standardized English language tests and ability tests necessary for studying in the USA (TOEFL, GRE, GMAT).
The Open Society Foundations (OSF) offers a number of scholarships and grants for research and academic development. Among other things, the Civil Society Scholar Awards is a program available in Serbia intended for PhD students and the faculty of higher education institutions engaged in international research projects. Central European University (CEU)
Information related to the available Master and PhD programs, the application process and existing scholarship packages can be found on the CEU website. CEU offers a number of study programs primarily in the field of humanities on as many as 13 different departments. This higher education institution is accredited in the United States of America.
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
On the website of the German Academic Exchange Service, the largest German organization dealing with the financial support of international cooperation of colleges, there can be found useful information regarding the conditions of studying and research in Germany. DAAD Info Center in Belgrade consults students and helps them throughout their search for a suitable higher education institution in Germany, informs them on possibilities of receiving DAAD scholarships and financial aid from other German organizations.
