On Friday, June 19, 2020 an Alumni2Alumni lecture titled Police violence, protests and riots in USA in 2020 was held by OSF alumni Marko Zilovic, George Washington University.He gave a brief history of racism in the USA, highlighted the disproportional percentage of Afro-Americans in jail population and pointed out the militarization of American police that has been happening for the last couple of decades, thus explaining some of the main reasons for the protests. One of the central subjects of the lecture was the response by the Tramp administration, Joseph Biden, and the Democrats and the effects it will have on the presidential elections in November. During the discussion, the reporting on the protests by Serbian media was also touched upon.
