CBAM - tool of the European Union in achieving climate neutrality

The European Union is making efforts to realize the vision of the European Green Deal, which calls for Europe to be a climate-neutral continent by 2050. In order to achieve this, it is developing a mechanism whose purpose is to motivate the EU's trading partners to take steps to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels. Also, the European Green Deal mandates that the European Union be a fair society, and the introduction of various climate policies in accordance with the European Green Deal often puts its market at risk.

Green Talk: Join the public discussion on NECP!

The Belgrade Open School, in cooperation with the Renewables and Environmental Regulatory Institute (RERI), organized the second in a series of Green Talks on the topic of the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP). The event was held in Dorćol Platz on June 28 and brought together more than 50 representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, representatives of international organizations, local associations, the academic community, experts in the field of energy, activists.

The five-year „Together for the Environment“ project officially launched

The Belgrade Open School and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched five-year Together for the Environment project to improve environmental protection and biodiversity in Serbia. The project was opened at a conference that gathered more than 70 representative from different social sectors - public, civic and business with the aim of developing cooperation. The participants had the opportunity for mutual discussion about the importance of such a project, potential benefits and opportunities for joint cooperation.

COP 27: Nothing new at the Summit

The leaders of more than 120 countries of the world attended the UN Summit on Climate Change (Conference of Parties - COP 27), which was held in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. From November 6 to 18, further steps to stop climate change were discussed. This is the fifth summit that has been held in Africa, a continent that is considered one of the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. All countries were urged not to allow the war in Ukraine and the global financial crisis to stand in the way of stopping the further rise in global temperatures.
