- 15 participants, biologists, professors, ichthyologists and ecologists are introduced to ways to increase the resilience of protected areas to climate change
- Through the realization of the seminar "Trade Unions for Just Energy Transition" the capacity of 10 employees of RB "Kolubara" to understand the concept of just energy transition and the space for participation of employees in the energy sector in this process was boosted

- Established network for civic air quality measurement in the territory of Lazarevac municipality and central Belgrade municipalities, which has 20 members
- In partnership with RES foundation and Regional development agency of Zlatibor, development of the Regional document for sustainable energy and climate of the Zlatibor region was initiated, in accordance with the methodology of the Covenant of Mayors. Municipality of Priboj is the first of municipalities from this region to officially join the Covenant initiative.

- Capacity building of 10 young journalists, members of the editorial office of the youth portal "Mingl", after training on the topic of report making
- Capacity building of 10 young journalists, members of the editorial office of the youth portal "Mingl", on the topic of journalism basics and environmental topics
- Through organizing 4 trainings, capacities of energy managers from 6 towns and municipalities of Zlatibor region were boosted, for establishing of the energy management system, monitoring of energy consumption and conduction of energy audits
- Through implementation of the training “Community Energy” capacities of 15 representatives of civil society organizations and the media were boosted, for active monitoring of the local energy policy development
- The work of Belgrade Open School on improving local energy policy through establishment of Energy Management System has been particularly important during 2017. In partnership with RES foundation, a consultative process was conducted, gathering 50 representatives from 16 cities and municipalities, dedicated to local energy policy. A training for establishing Energy Management System was organized, gathering representatives of more than half of cities and municipalities subjected to the Energy Management System. Memorandum on Cooperation has been signed with the City of Pirot. BOS has become one of the founders of the Network of Good Energy, association of cities and municipalities dedicated to improving local energy policy in partnership with civil and private sector. Besides BOS, the founders of the Network of Good Energy are RES Foundation and Vojvodina Environmental Movement, as well as the cities of Šabac and Pirot and Municipality of Vrbas.
- Activities of Belgrade Open School in Energy, Climate and Environment programme area have become more recognizable through issuing of a special quarterly column dedicated to energy policy, within the ’Let’s speak about negotiations’ e-journal of Belgrade Open School (more than 2000 registered addresses), as well as through developing and issuing the monthly newsletter on latest news in Energy, Climate and Environmental Policy, which is being sent to over 200 addresses.
- During 2017 BOS has actively monitored the process of development of Climate Change Strategy with the Action Plan. A workshop was organized for CSOs on mechanisms for participation of the interested public and the contact with representatives of Climate Change Sector within the Ministry of Environmental Protection was maintained. BOS has become a regular participant in consultations organized by this Ministry and members of BOS team were regularly invited to take part in consultations on Draft Law on Climate Change, as well as aspects of Climate Change Strategy dedicated to adaptation to climate change.
- Seeking to develop and contribute to the process of harmonization and implementation of the policies and legislation of the Republic of Serbia with the EU Acquis in the field of environment and climate change, BOS has, as a member of the Coalition 27,a civil society organizations network, participated in the making of the Coalition’s annual report: ‘’Chapter 27 in Serbia: Still under construction – Shadow Report on Chapter 27 Environment and Climate Change.’’
- Throughout 2016, BOS advocated for the development of a legal and strategic environmental policy framework, through participating in the drafting process of the Law on Environmental Liability and the drafting of the Law on Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions. Comments on the drafts of the Law on Environmental Protection, Law on Waste Management, Water Law and the Water Management Strategy of the territory of the Republic of Serbia until 2034, were also drawn.
- Through advocating for the public’s participation in the decision making process, the partner relationship of the public and civil sector , and through working on the process of linking stakeholders and interested parties in the environmental protection policy, 11 consultative workshops and meetings were organized, as well as a campaign, with the participation of over 200 local governments, civil society organizations, regional development agency representatives, foreign partners, academic communities and individuals.
- Recognizing the establishment of an effective energy management system as a key instrument for the development of local communities, Memorandums were signed about the cooperation with 4 local government units on establishing an energy management system which contributes to: reducing environmental pollution, fighting against climate change and against energy poverty.
