Belgrade Open School presents you the tenth edition of the monthly newsletter “Energy, Climate and Environment”.
In light of the dynamic development of public policies in the field of environment, climate change and energy - both at national and global level - we think it is important to keep up with trends for all of us interested in these issues. There are many sources of information, as well as events, and it is not always easy to keep track of all of them. We prepared for you the overview of the most important news and events in the previous month, at the level of Serbia, the region, the European Union and at the global level.
European Union has revised its renewable energy and energy efficiency goals. The new goal of the 32% share of renewables in total consumption by 2030 was agreed. At the global level, concerns are increased related to dedication to fighting climate change, since the most developed countries in the world, gathered in G7, continue to invest great amounts of money in fossil fuel industry. Adopting new strategies and planes for waste management and prevention as the topic at the regional level. While we are waiting for the negotiation position of Serbia for Chapter 27 to be completed, Coalition 27 has continued to present its (No) Progress Report. The topic of noise management in urban areas and along traffic roads has proven to be less attractive than others.
These are just some of the topics you can find out more about in the eight issue of the “Energy, Climate and Environment” newsletter, which can be downloaded here. You can access the newsletter archive on this link.
If you have any suggestions on the topics that you would like to read about in our newsletter, or you have any other proposal, feel free to get in touch via email mirjana.jovanovic@bos.rs .
Best regards until the next issue!
