In this issue, we highlight an interview with Zenke Kreft, head of the International Climate Policy Team in  organisation Germanwatch. Kreft talks about the main conclusions of the Global Climate Risk Index for 2016, the extreme weather conditions in Serbia and other affected regions, as well as the global and EU response to climate change.

The focus of this issue is the opening of the first two chapters in the accession negotiations.
