BOS announces the Call for project proposals of civil society and media in the field of European integration

17. Jul 2017.

Belgrade Open School (BOS) invites interested civil society organizations (CSOs) and media to submit project proposals and apply for support in the second year of the Civil Society and Media Support Programme (Programme) in the field of European Integration. The program is implemented within the project "Civil Society for the European Union – CS4EU", which BOS implements since October 2016 with the support of Sweden.

Support for the implementation of project ideas in this cycle will receive up to 15 CSOs and media from Serbia who, in their daily activities, make the process of European Union integration closer to the citizens in local communities. Also, support is provided to those CSOs and media which create and monitor the implementation of sectoral policies, necessary for the reform through European integration process.

In this cycle, two types of support will be provided:

1. Core support - possible support for 4 CSOs and media up to 200,000 SEK per project;

2. Project support - possible support for 4 CSOs and media up to 150,000 SEK per project.

Core support is intended for the sustainability of civil society organizations that actively participate or have the potential to participate in the creation of public policies in the process of accession to the European Union and the media that improve the quality of information and encourage a public debate on the European integration process.

Project support is intended for civil society organizations engaged in advocacy for greater participation of local communities in the process of European Integration and media for strengthening media freedoms, media independence and improvement of the quality of reporting on democratic development issues and the process of Serbia's EU accession.

In addition, support will also be provided to a specific number of current partners in the project for extension of cooperation.

The Call will support projects focused on topics such as: rule of law, strengthening of democratic institutions and procedures, transparency and accountability of public authorities, public administration reform, media freedom and media independence, fight against climate change, environmental protection, balanced regional development, and the employability of young people and their participation in policy making.

Details about the call for project proposals, current partners and activities can be found on the web site www.transformator.bos.rs (available only on Serbian language).

The call is open until Sunday, August 20th up to 23:59. Submission of project proposals requires two steps: (1) filling online form with information about the applicant and the project itself, and (2) upload of the necessary project documentation in the form. More information about the Call, the list of necessary project documentation, F.A.Q. and online form can be found here.

The Programme covers two program activities: (1) Support to CS4EU Programme Partners; and (2) Capacity Building and Networking Programme, and the overall objective of the Programme is to contribute to European Integration and democratic development in Serbia by strengthening the role of civil society and media.

The budget for financial support to CSOs and media in 2017/18 is SEK 1,400,000, which is approximately 150,000 EUR. Supported applicants are obliged to implement their projects from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018.
