Info sessions took place as a part of the Civil Society and Media Support Program in the field of European Integration. The program lasts for three years, from October 2016 to October 2019. It includes two separate program activities: 1. Support for projects and partner civil society organizations and the media; and 2. Capacity building and networking program. Support for projects and partner civil society organizations and the media involves allocating financial resources to at least 15 civil society organizations and media and is implemented through institutional support (for at least 5 CSOs and the media) and support for projects (for at least 5 CSO projects and 5 media). The total budget for the realization of financial support for civil society organizations and the media in the first year amounts to SEK 2,500,000 which is approximately EUR 250,000. Deadline for submitting project proposals is Sunday, January 22, 2017, 23 hours and 59 minutes.
The "Civil Society for the European Union" project is being implemented by the Belgrade Open School (BOS) with the support of the Kingdom of Sweden. The project aims to contribute to European integration and democratic development in Serbia by strengthening the role of civil society and the media in these processes. The control and corrective role of civil society organizations and the media is a prerequisite for establishing and strengthening the principles of the rule of law and the protection of human rights that underlie the process of European integration.
