Belgrade Open School (BOS) announces 20 civil society organizations that will receive project and program support within the fourth year of the Civil Society Support Program for Public Advocacy and Cooperation with the Business Sector within the project „Active Citizens - Better Society: Advocating for Cooperation and Democratic Development”.
Only alumni organizations, that were part of the Program in the previous three Calls, had the right to participate in the fourth Call for Support Program. This Support Program implies further improvement of the advocacy capacities of alumni organizations and will strive to encourage and strengthen cooperation with the business sector with the intention of creating supportive environment for joint action of these two sectors towards positive social change.
The following is the list of the supported CSOs that have received project support:
- Centre for Experiments in Urban Studies - CEUS - Ecological Parameters for Healthier Cities
- Center for missing and exploited children - Together for safer internet
- Center for Emotional Support to People in Crisis and Prevention of Suicide – „RESILIENT AND RESPONSIBLE”
- Bird Protection and Study Society of Serbia - Advocating for cooperation between CSOs and business sector in establishing and implementing permanent mechanisms for the active protection of the eagle crusader
- Labris - Lesbian Human Rights organisation - Workplace - a place of inclusion and diversity
- The Psychological Center for Community Mental Health „MentalHub“ - #MyPsychologist – Initiative for opening a local psychological counseling center
- Regional association of private forest owners „Omorika“- What grows on a tree?
- Renewables and Environmental Regulatory Institute –„RERI“ - Improving multi-sector dialog and public cooperation models in the processes of business environmental impact assessment
- Association оf Producers оf Products with Geographical Indication of Serbia „Original“ - Together to OriGInal quality
- Streets for cyclists - Bike to work campaign „Just not with a car“
- Uzice Child Rights Centre - UCRC - Prevention of Violence Against Children within the Business Sector
- Consumer Protection - Improving waste, packaging waste management, and shopping bags
In addition to financial support, selected organizations will also receive support in strengthening their advocacy and communication capacities, the opportunity to participate in the activities of the cross-sectoral advocacy platform and to participate in dialogue with decision makers.
In addition to project support, the Civil Society Support Program also includes program support which 8 CSOs received this year. This type of support includes strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations that need support in the design, planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns, as well as in improving existing activities in the field of public advocacy and long-term capacity building.
The following is the list of the supported CSOs that have received program support:
- Association for helping people with autism - Bazi Mili and Association Realno - Personal assistant - My right to inclusive life even after the age of 18
- National Association of Civic Education Teachers and Associates (NAGVIS) - You are strong when you are active
- Union of the Blind of Serbia - Strengthening of the Capacities of the Union and Local Organizations of the Blind in Serbia
- Sombor's tailors - Improving gender-sensitive measures for the employment of women victims of violence in local employment action plans (LEAP)
- Association of students with disabilities - Handicap is a human rights issue
- Creative youth association Urban Stream - Youth-tailored youth policy
- ROZA - Association for Women’s Labor Rights - Informing for reducing the exploitation of young people in the labor market
The approved projects will be implemented from May to November 2022.
The Belgrade Open School is implementing the project „Active Citizens - Better Society: Advocating for Cooperation and Democratic Development“ in partnership with the Foundation BFPE For a Responsible Society and the Balkan Research Network (BIRN) of Serbia, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Serbia.
