PolitiKAS: The Second Semester started on Tuesday, 12th of February 2013
The second semester of the educational programme “PolitiKAS” started on Tuesday, 12th of February 2013, with lectures on two modules “Politics II” and “Economic and Social Policy”. Participants had an opportunity to discuss the political significance of ethnic and religious identities with Milan Sitarski, and social inclusion with Zarko Sunderic.
Within module “Politics II”, participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the role of religious and ethnic identities in the politics, with special emphasis on democratic and plural societies. They will also learn more about the role of the nations and national states in contemporary European and Balkan history, decentralized forms of organization of political communities, international relations in the modern era, with a special focus on Serbia and the Balkans, as well as about human and minority civil rights and instruments for their protection.
The main goal of the module “Economic and Social Policy” is to inform participants about the significance of economic and social policy and the main problems Serbia faces with in these areas. Special attention will be paid to a discussion about values of right centre in the economic and social sphere, as well as about concepts of the social market economy.
