From September to December 2021, Belgrade Open School (BOS) provided mentoring support to students of two schools - Secondary School of Economics "Vuk Karadzic" from Velika Plana and Secondary School "Vuk Karadzic" from Secanj in the design and implementation of activities concerning the protection of digital privacy. Support included joint preparation of trainings for their peers, mentoring in the process of developing school activities and preparation of materials for the Mingle site.
In November, BOS, together with students - peer mentors, held a training at the school in Velika Plana. The content of the training was jointly developed and a total of 30 students participated in it, while eight students were present in the peer mentors. The training consisted of two parts - BOS held a presentation on privacy, personal data protection and digital violence, while peer mentors led a workshop to discuss the task of digital privacy protection.
In December, BOS held a training at the Vuk Karadzic High School in Secanj, which was attended by 17 students, while four students participated in the role of peer mentors. They gave a lecture on Snapchat and organized an interactive quiz on digital privacy, and created promotional materials, such as badges and flyers with messages about the importance of privacy.
Students and teachers in these schools are additionally empowered to prepare and organize activities within their schools through which they will be able to work on further raising the visibility of the problem of personal data misuse. with his peers.
The trainings were held within the project Save Privacy - Resist Pressure (Reclaiming Privacy: A Tool to Fight Oppression), which the Belgrade Open School conducts in cooperation with Partners Serbia, SHARE Foundation, Association Da se zna, NGO Atina and A11 Initiative, with the support of the Delegation European Union in the Republic of Serbia.
