Good Energy in Bajina Bašta: Energy Audits and Public Buildings’ Work Optimisation

05. Apr 2018.

On Wednesday, April 4, in Bajina Bašta, a training was held on the topic „Energy audits and public buildings’ work optimisation“. The training was organised by the Network of Good Energy members, the Belgrade Open School and RES Foundation, in cooperation with the Municipality of Bajina Bašta and the Regional Development Agency Zlatibor, in order to continue the work on raising the capacity of energy managers on the importance and possibilities of energy saving, through energy audits and optimising work of the buildings.

At the very beginning of the training participants were addressed by Jelena Filipović, governor of the Municipality of Bajina Bašta, Mirjana Jovanović from the Belgrade Open School, and also Željko Zečević and Nikola Vujović from the secretariat of the Network of Good Energy. Training „Energy audits and public buildings’ work optimisation“ is a logical continuation of the Network of Good Energy in Zlatibor district, after the conference „Good Energy of the Zlatibor District“ in Nova Varoš, and training „Energy Savings as a Result of Data Management“ held in Priboj.

In the first part of the training, energy managers Nikola Vujović and Željko Zečević presented to local energy managers the importance of energy audits and how to prepare before going to an object that they want to review. In the second part of the training, energy managers took part in the energy review of the National library „Miloš Trebinjac“ building. The goal of the energy audit is to determine the actual state of energy consumption, the state of energy systems and the presentation of possible energy efficiency measures. That includes estimating the amount of investment in the implementation of these measures and the expected amounts of energy savings in order to determine the efficiency or inefficiency of energy consumption, and also to make conclusions and recommendations for increasing energy efficiency. In the last part of the training, the focus was on how to use the data collected in the field in order to optimise the work of the buildings.

Training „Energy audits and public buildings’ work optimisation“ was held within the activites of the Network of Good Energy in organisation od the Belgrade Open School, RES Foundation and the Regional Development Agency Zlatibor, with the support of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and Sweden. Network of Good Energy will continue to support local government units in the Zlatibor region in order to increase the capacity for achieving energy efficiency measures.
