- The capacities of over 100 representatives of CSOs and the media for monitoring the process of Serbia's accession to the EU, active participation in the decision-making process, writing and advocating practical policy proposals, but also for project implementation have been strengthened.
- Citizens were informed about the activities of civil society organizations and the media in the process of European integration through the Transformer of Civil Society portal through 85 publications. (transformator.bos.rs)
- The realization of six Move.Link.Engage. conference over 800 representatives of CSOs, institutions, and media from Western Balksan region were informed about the process of the EU integration.
- YOU4EU Policy Recommendations on transparency and citizen participation, which were published in February 2020, set out the main conclusions, gathered during the project activities in five project partnering countries (Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Spain), and a series of specific recommendations for the European Union and national governments.
- An internationa conference "Citizen participation matters – changes we need", which was organised on 12 December 2019 in Belgrade, gathered around 50 participants from five countres who had the opportunity to discuss key problems and solutions in the field of citizen participation.
- Around 300 citizens and 180 stakeholders and decision-makers from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and Spain had the opportunity to participate in the development of the publication "50 Questions from YOU to the EU" which provides an overview of important political, economic and societal issues at local, national and EU level.
- Around 40 teams from 12 countries took part in "Citizen Participation 2.0" Contest for the best digital solution that fosters civic activism. The award for the best digital solution, in the amount of 2,000 Euros, went to CIECODE from Spain for development of a voice assistant, called "Personal Political Analyst", which can assist citizens in better monitoring of the implementation of election promises of political parties.
- Since the establishment of Civil Society Organizations Sector of the Office for European Integration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Belgrade Open School is a leading member of the working group for public administration reform. In this way, BOS will monitor the process and participate in the planning of development assistance in Serbia.
- Belgrade Open School conducted a research on public discussions regarding the legal and strategic framework necessary for Serbia’s accession to the European Union. After this, Belgrade Open School continued to regularly monitor and evaluate the practice of public discussions in Serbia’s accession to the European Union.
- As part of the annual support Belgrade Open School receives through the ‘’Europe for Citizens’’ program, the two-day regional conference ‘’Move.Link.Engage.’’ has been held regularly every year, since 2015. The conference aims to round up representatives of European Union bodies, experts from all over Europe, representatives of public authorities and civil society from Serbia and other Western Balkans countries which actively monitor the European integration process of their respective countries. The conference aims to connect its participants so as to develop and adjust the way public policies are managed to the European Union integration process taking place in Western Balkan countries.
- Since 2015, Belgrade Open School has regularly been issuing the electronic newsletter ‘’Let’s Speak about the Negotiations’’. This newsletter is the first of its kind published in Serbia, and one which is intended exclusively for Serbia’s EU accession negotiations. With time, this newsletter has found its readers with the civil society representatives, public authorities’ representatives, but the general public as well. So each newsletter issue today, comes with 4000 downloads.
- The Belgrade Open School is a pioneer of bringing the European integration of Serbia closer to the general public, and various target groups. In accordance with this, Belgrade Open School developed the Europe to Go application for the android operating system in 2014, and two years later did the same for the operating system iOs. The application stood out with its quality and content, so in the meantime, the application was translated into languages of the Western Balkan countries. The application also made into the shortlist for the European Youth Award in 2016, as one of the best European projects concerning young people.
- In cooperation with partners from Požega, Leskovac and Niš, Belgrade Open School built teams of civil society organizations who monitor the European Union accession negotiations in their own communities. Belgrade Open School plans to continue working further with these teams, keep building new ones, and to keep supporting the work of similar existing initiatives.
- At the request of the Belgrade Open School, through recommendations and a petition for the initiation of the proposal for an alteration of the legal act, given to the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, the Office Management Regulation was altered, and the Regulation on putting the ‘OFFICIAL’ stamp on certain acts. This is how transparency was increased and another step forward was made, so that the European accession negotiations are the joint ownership of all citizens.
- Belgrade Open School, in cooperation with its partners, regularly draws up the contribution for the Progress Report on Serbia’s European Union integration process. So far, three such report contributions were drafted (for 2014, 2015 and 2016). The EU Delegation in the Republic of Serbia has also recognized Belgrade Open School as a reliable and interested party that can make a valuable contribution to the drafting of the already mentioned report.
