The Belgrade Open School (BOS) has organized a study visit to Hungary within the project "Debate on the future of the four freedoms of the EU: Freedom of the EU" during the period between August 20 and 22th, 2017. On the study tour, members of the BOS team and youth workers from other cities in Serbia have had the opportunity to attend an international conference entitled "Day of the Four Freedoms of the European Union", held in the city of Heviz. The aim of the conference has been to get acquainted with the freedoms of the European Union (EU) and their future development, with a particular focus on entrepreneurship and opportunities for young people in the EU. At the outset, the Mayor of Heviz Municipality has opened the conference, highlighting the importance of international projects and a joint discussion on the topic of the EU. He has also introduced the participants with the Municipality of Heviz as one of the main tourist centers in Hungary.
The central part of the conference has consisted of the debate on the future of EU freedoms, and the influence the global changes could have on the potential change of the present and the occurence of a need for new EU freedoms. The participants of the debate were as follows: Bojana Jevtović representing BOŠ, Serbia; Stefan August Lütgenau representing Foster Europe, Austria; János Kepli representing the municipality of Heviz, Hungary; Dejan Süč, representing the municipality of Lednava, Slovenia; and Endre Dávid, an entrepreneur from Romania.
In addition to the debate, the participants have also had the opportunity to hear stories from successful young entrepreneurs, youth workers and students showcasing all the opportunities the EU provides to young people, as well as to watch a vlog presentation comparing successful entrepreneurial stories in Hungary and Romania.
The previous event within the project " "Debate on the future of the four freedoms of the EU: Freedom of the EU" entitled "#EU4YOU: Where Changes Happens" was held on June 9 in Niš. The project is managed by the Municipality of Hevic (Republic of Hungary) in partnership with the Hargit District of the Republic of Macedonia, the Municipality of Lendava (Republic of Slovenia) and the organization Foster Europe (Burgenland, Republic of Austria), and is supported by the European Union cultural policy through the "Europe for Citizens and Citizens" program. The project will last from November 1, 2016, to November 30, 2017. More information is available at the following website: http://eu3doms.eu.
