This nine month project supported the development of the Strategy for Career Guidance and Counselling as a necessary step in introducing and applying career guidance and counselling in the process of Serbian educational and economic development.

The goal of the Project was to further increase capacities of Vocational Education and Training (VET) schools to build partnerships with government and network with other stakeholders at the regional and national levels, by defining the Strategy for Development of Career Guidance and Counselling in Serbia and further introducing the service of career guidance and counselling (CGC) for students of VET schools.

Activities of BOS in the implementation of this project were:

• Design of the Strategy Paper on Career Guidance and Counselling Development in Serbia

• Institutional development of Regional Centre in Zrenjanin into the Career Guidance and Counselling centre

• Fostering VET schools capacities for acceptance and implementation of the Strategy for Career Guidance and Counselling Development

• Interactive Workshops for Students on Career Guidance and Counselling

• Collecting Data for the Database and Database Updating and Maintenance

Although Strategy was developed in 2008 Ministry of Youth and Sport (MoYS) recognized the importance of the topic, redefined some elements of Strategy and submitted it to the Serbian Government, where it was officially adopted on March 4th 2010. See the final text of the Strategy in English.
