The achieved goal of the project was developed and adapted to conditions in Serbia comprehensive model of career guidance and counseling in the VET system, primarily the four Regional Centres for Adult Education. In the process of model development the following stakeholders have been involved: schools of secondary education, teachers, parents, employers, local authorities, relevant national institutions.
The overall achieved project objectives:- Increased efficiency and effectiveness of vocational education and training (VET)
- Introduced culture of career guidance and counseling in VET institutions,
- Contributed to the reduction of unemployment and passiveness on the labor market at a national level, through the provision of specialist services and career guidance and counseling that adequately positiones individuals in the labor market.
Results:
- Four regional centers further expanded the scope of their activities that they offer to their clients.
- 15 project associates from four regional offices are acquainted with the purpose and elements of career guidance and counseling and the importance of applying these practices in today's VET.
- The database, which includes relevant information on about 200 students of 11 pilot departments of vocational schools of agriculture and food industry. The database also includes information on potential employers in the region of these schools.
- A protocol was signed with the National Employment Agency, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Affairs, which confirmed their support at the national level.
