How can we help students to make career decisions based on authentic and relevant information? What competencies are necessary for career practitioners to successfully provide career guidance and counseling services? How we can prepare students for a job or internship interview? These are just some of the topics we addressed during the two-day training "One step further towards comprehensive and quality services of career guidance and counseling", held on September 19-20 in Belgrade.
The training was held at the Hotel "Constantine the Great" and was attended by 20 high school teachers and professional associates from Belgrade, Mionica, Bor, Velika Plana, Smederevska Palanka, Knić, Trstenik, Secanj and Paracin.
Training „One step further towards comprehensive and quality services of career guidance and counselling“ is intended for representatives of schools’ teams for career guidance and counselling who have basic knowledge in this area, and want to improve their competencies for carrying out quality services for the development of career management skills of students.
On the first day of the training, Jelena Manić Radoičić, Program Manager at Belgrade Open School and Tamara Stanojević, Project Coordinator and Career Counsellor, presented participants a traditional and modern career concept, strategic framework for career guidance and counseling , as well as ways for students to recognize their potential and how to reach to relevant information for future careers. On the second day of training, Dana Džamić from the Faculty of Media and Communication joined the trainers of the Belgrade Open School and spoke about understanding the difficulties and recognizing the abilities of students on the autism spectrum.
The training was realized within the project ''Quality services for better youth employment - KviS on BIS'', with the financial support of Solidar Suisse - Office in Serbia. The training is accredited by the Institute for Advancing Education and Upbringing (ZUOV) and carries 16 points.
