How well the importance of mentoring young people from vulnerable groups is recognized, and what are the challenges in this area in Turkey, Italy, Serbia, Belgium and Bulgaria? In which mentoring cycles it is desirable to include online tools, and when the face-to-face meeting of the mentor and mentee is still indispensable? How to plan mentoring events internationally in a better way and provide equal conditions and necessary support for all participants are just some of the topics discussed at the partner meeting within the Erasmus + VM-Pro project: Validation of mentoring, held in the period of 11 and 12 April 2019 in Belgrade.
The host of the fourth international partner meeting was the Belgrade Open School. The meeting started with the presentation of a report on the activities carried out in the previous period, as well as the following steps and mentoring organized in countries in which the project is being implemented. Special attention was paid to the discussion on the improvement of the functioning and optimization of the online platform, based on the input received from the National Advisory Boards. In addition, the partners in Belgrade agreed to provide additional types of materials for support in the implementation of mentoring processes, which will be distributed primarily to mentors, teachers, youth workers and all those who will use them for better work with young people who are mentoring.
On the second day of the meeting, the initial preparations for the two major international events for young people were carried out. The events will be organized in autumn, and in scope of them young people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups will take part in the exchange of good practices and experiences.
The goal of the "VM-Pro project: Validation of mentoring for young people" is the empowerment and support of young people from vulnerable groups, through the development of tools for quality implementation of informal mentoring programs for young people.
