Belgrade open school (BOS), for the fourth year in a row, organized Fair of school teams for career guidance and counseling, on May 29th, 2018. in Belgrade. Fair was organized with partner support of Solidar Suisse, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. 19 the best high school teams for career guidance and counseling from all over the Serbia and other interested representatives from high schools and other institutions and organizations gathered together to share experience in order to improve their work in this field. The Fair was supported by ZUOV and The Foundation Tempus office in Serbia – Euroguidance center.
General director of Belgrade open school Vesna Djukic opened the Fair with introductory speech. Mrs. Djukic emphasized that BOS has been working on establishment and development of career guidance and counseling in Serbia since 2002. Takođe je poželela dobrodošlicu svim učesnicima, a izlagačima puno sreće u takmičenju.
After official opening, visitors and members of the commission had an opportunity to get to know the work of exhibitors. Five-member commission, in which there were Tatijana Glisic Milutinovic, Zavod za unapređenje vaspitanja i obrazovanja, Ivana Kovacevic, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Dragana Jovanovic, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Ivane Vulić, Euroguidance Center i Jelena Manic Radoicic (BOS), have visited all the stands and got acquainted with the work of school teams. Relying on delivered Plans and programs for career guidance and counseling, reports of conducted activities in the current school year and presentation during the Fair, commission had task to choose the most active school team in 2017/2018 school year.
The main criteria for commission’s decision were aligned with suggestions from Standard of Career Guidance and Counseling and they covered four key areas: Quality of plan and program for career guidance and counseling, Quality of conducted activities, Resources and cooperation and Presentation on the Fair.
Before proclamation of the winner and awards, members of the commission had word and they concluded that there was improvement in quality and diversity in career guidance and counseling services in high schools. The president of the commission Tatijana Glisic, ZUOV, emphasized the importance of career guidance and counseling and gave advice to teachers and professional associates to continue to work on improvement of monitoring the quality and implementing the innovation in career guidance and counseling services. Dragana Jovanovic highlight support of Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development in development of career guidance in schools and praised the present exhibitors for enthusiasm to support students.
The first price was awarded to the team of Gymnasium ,,Branko Radicevic" from Stara Pazova, which were particularly prominent in its own proactivity and diversity of activities for their students which were predicted in Plan and program and successfully conducted in cooperation with lot of partners from economic, public and civil sector. The award of 20.000 dinars and study trip to Istanbul was delivered by Olivera Stepanovic and Vesna Djukic. Gymnasium from Zajecar won the second place and took price in amount of 10.000 dinars and study trip to Nottingham. Due to large number of high-quality exhibitors, Economic-trade school from Pozarevac won the third place and the award in the form of study trip to Tirana, while Tehnical school from Pozega won the fourth place and participation on regional forum for youth employment in Skopje as award.
The Fair was held within the project “Quality services for better youth employment – KVIS on BIS” with financial help of Solidar Suisse– Office in Serbia.
