This year as well, Belgrade Open School has supported the AMChamps – Young Leaders in Change as a unique one-year educational program with the goal of developing employment, strengthening the talents and potentials of young managers.
A one-day training for mentors and program students on the topic of motivation, mentorship and social intelligence was held on Friday, Janaury 27th, at the premises of Cultural Center ‘’Parobrod’’.
The whole day’s work, organized as teambuilding, was opened by Aleksandar Hangimana, from the Manpower Group, with a lecture on the topic of motivation, by presenting the theoretical framework and types of motivation, and the internal and external motivation starters to the students.
The lecture on motivation was followed by a mentoring workshop, led by Jelena Manić Radoičić, Programme Manager of the Improvement of Employability Programme at the Belgrade Open School. She taught the participants organized in pairs about the phases and goals of mentorship in general, with a special emphasis on building the mentor-mentee relationship(proactivity, dedication, openness), and questions about mentorship that they may come across during the course of the program. The pairs were given structured instructions and the chance to practice the so-called Mentor session in various formats(one-on-one, shadowing, Greek Academy, chatting, etc.). All pairs were given an assignment that is to be graded at the end of the program. The assignment consists of a joint video clip about the mentoring process that the pair will go through – the path of development, challenges and accomplishments, mutual growth.
At the end of the work day, Milana Malešev, from the PwC’s Academy, held a workshop on the topic of Social Intelligence. At the workshop, the students learned more about behavior – self-respect, motivation. The relationship scheme between desires/motives and satisfaction/goals was discussed through examples from everyday life.
