How to ensure the effective participation of civil society organizations in the adoption of the environmental laws - The Case of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Nature Protection

The analysis provides a detailed overview of the legal framework in the field of nature protection. Special attention was paid to the process of drafting, public discussion and adoption of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Nature Protection. The process was marked by the inconsistent application of laws and other legal acts of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the non-transparency of the drafting process itself due to insufficient opportunities for public participation. Based on the analysis, recommendations were made for improving the process of drafting legal acts in the field of nature protection, which are intended for relevant decision makers.
