Support for career development of young people in Youth Offices

Youth Offices are recognized as important actors in the field of career guidance and counseling at the local level. During the implementation of the Career Guidance and Counseling Strategy in the Republic of Serbia from 2010 to 2014, great progress was made in strengthening their capacity in this area. In the period that followed, the National Strategy for Youth for the period from 2015 to 2025 continued to recognize their role in career guidance and counseling, and the current strategic framework further plans activities related to the improvement of their work in the recently adopted standards.
However, the data indicate that in recent years the number of young people who state that they receive support for their career development through career guidance and counseling has been decreasing, which indicates that the situation in this area has changed. That is why this research answers the question of what is the current situation in this area. How many Youth Offices implement Career Guidance and Counseling services? What does service delivery look like? What obstacles do career guidance and counseling face in this area?
