From the entire scope of the EU acquis, a large part relates to only one chapter – Chapter 27. It refers to the environment and climate change and it is one of the most demanding chapters for Serbia, bearing in mind not only the scope od the acquis that should be adopted, but also the significant financial resources needed for their proper implementation.
Through the implementation od the program „Green PowerUp“ BOS provides support to local organizations throughout Serbia in order to improve public policies in some areas of environmental protection and improve the quality of life in their communities.
The list of supported organizations and their projects is available here.
The first meeting with the supported organizations was a training held from 28 June untill 1 July in Vrnjačka Banja. It was the first of two trainings to be held during the second year of the program „Green PowerUp“, which aim to provide supported organizations with useful guidelines for successful financial and program project management and improve their future work.
In addition to financial and program managemnt sessions, much of the training was dedicated to presetntion of the methodology for monitoring public policies at the local level and for its proper use. The contributions that CSOs make through implementation of methodology will be included in the Shadow Reports of Coalition 27 and thus deepen the content of these annual Reports, giving them a local component.
This year the training participants were provided with material made by the small local producers of zero waste products. Working material is made of natural materials (blocks, pens), while soaps, business card cases and fruit measuring bags are made of previously used materials (old curtains, tetrapack packaging, previously used oil...)

The Program is a part of the „Green Incubator“ project implemented by the Belgrade Open School with partners Young Researchers of Serbia and Environmental Engineering Group , with the financial support of the European Union, as well as the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
