The last event that the XXVIII generation of the Future Studies attended in the autumn semester was a Master Class on the topic of Career Development in the Age of Globalization, held on December, 30 in the online classroom of the Belgrade Open School. This Master Class was held by Bojana Perišić, Sales Director at Vice Media Group, Berlin. In addition to her professional engagement, she dedicates herself to career counseling young people and selflessly tries to point out important segments in career development.
Students of the XXVIII generation talked together with Bojana about the shortcomings of formal education, why we never talk about career, as well as about the culture in Serbia, which does not include conversations about that very important part of our lives. With her experience and professional career, Bojana pointed out to the students that it is necessary to be free to think about the different career paths we can take.
New and unconventional jobs, as well as the ever-changing labor market, present constant challenges that young people have to face, given that traditional career paths are not that usual anymore. In addition, Bojana emphasized that the age of digitalization has brought a lot of new information, opportunities for learning and improvement, which leads to the fact that we can often go into an area for which we are not formally educated. The lecturer does not see a great threat in that and actually encourages young people to do so.
In the second part of the Master Class, Bojana worked with the students on the Six Lives Exercise workshop, which we wholeheartedly recommend to you!
The first Master Class was held as part of extracurricular activities that provide additional ways for the students of the programme Future Studies to express their creativity, to discuss various topics, and upgrade their personality.
