Webinar Sustainable Development Goal 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation"

How to get clean drinking water and better sanitation?

The Belgrade Open School will implement a series of webinars dedicated to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals in the period from September 2020 to February 2021. The second webinar called "Water, Health and Dignity" will be held on Friday, December 25 at 1 p.m.

In this webinar, we deal with the Sustainable Development Goal number 6 - Clean water and sanitation, with a leading expert in this field Dr.sc.med. Dragan Jovanović, from the Institute of Public Health of Serbia "Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut"  we will talk about universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene. During the discussion, Dušica Trnavac Bogdanović from the Young Researchers of Serbia will take on the role of moderator and help us answer the following questions.

  • What does water supply mean for everyone and everywhere?
  • Where is Serbia in the implementation of the sustainable development goal 6?
  • What is and why is the WAterSanitationHealth concept important? 
  • What are examples of successful projects in Serbia and what are their conclusions?
  • What can individuals and institutions do to contribute to clean drinking water and better sanitation?

 

Besides this, during the 60 minutes of the webinar, experts will provide us with an insight into the state of water supply in Serbia, as well as on the Sustainable Development Goal number 6. In the final part of the webinar, you will be able to engage in a discussion, share your concerns, and ask any questions you have about this topic.

The webinar "Water, Health and Dignity" will be the second in a series of six webinars that BOS will conduct within the project "SDG for All". Each of the webinars will bring us closer to one of the sustainable development goals, which is directly related to environmental protection. After the first webinar dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goal No. 13 "Climate Action" and the second dedicated to Sustainable Development Goal No. 6 "Clean water and sanitation", the following webinars will address the following topics:

Sustainable Development Goal No. 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy",

Sustainable Development Goal No. 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production",

Sustainable Development Goal No. 14 "Life below water" and

Sustainable Development Goal No. 15 "Life on land".

The “SDGs for All” Platform is supported by Swiss Government and the German Development Cooperation and implemented by GIZ, within the project “Public Finance Reform – 2030 Agenda”. The project partners are the Belgrade Open School, the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, the Center for Advanced Economic Studies, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, the Center for Democracy Foundation and the Timok Youth Center.

The “SDGs for All” Platform enables a broad discussion among the Serbia’s non-state actors, including civil society, corporate sector, academic and research community, media and the citizens, on aligning Serbia’s development priorities within the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
