Belgrade Open School organized a training from 15-18. September in Novi Sad for 15 civil society organizations that were selected to participate in the support program Green PowerUp. Over the next seven months, the supported organizations will implement projects in local communities in the field of waste management, air quality, nature protection, water protection and management. The training was organized in compliance with all preventive measures and accordance with high epidemiological standards.
This was the first of two trainings to be held during the first year of the Green PowerUp program, which aims to provide selected organizations with useful guidelines for successful financial and program management of projects and improve their future work.

The BOS team expressed great pleasure that it will have the opportunity to cooperate and monitor the work of the present organizations, the executive director Milorad Bjeletić emphasized the importance of providing support and developing civil society.
The training was divided into several thematic units. In addition to financial and project management sessions, majeure part of the training was dedicated to the presentation of new methodology for monitoring public policy at the local level and providing guidelines for its proper use. The contributions that organizations will make through the application of the methodology will be included in the Shadow Reports of Coalition 27 and thus deepen the content of these annual Reports, giving them a local component.
The team of the "Green Incubator" project is committed to reducing the use of products made of plastic and other artificial materials. In the spirit of the principles of the circular economy, promotional material for participants was made in agreement with small, local, producers of zero waste products.
Civil Society Support Program for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development of local communities – Green PowerUp is the central part of the three-year project "Green Incubator" which the Belgrade Open School is implementing with partners Young Researchers of Serbia and Environmental Engineers Group. The support program is implemented with the financial support of the European Union, the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
