Belgrade open school hosted a webinar "How to adapt activities and services to young people with disabilities – working tools" within the HORECACCESS project

02. Jul 2020.

On Tuesday, 30th June 2020. Belgrade Open School hosted a webinar on the topic  "How to adapt activities and services to young people with disabilities – working tools" within the project HORECACCESS - accessibility of services in the HoReCa sector.

Together with participants, we opened the webinar with a small discussion on - how we understand the terms of “accessibility” and “availability” in the context of providing services to people with disabilities.

Then, project coordinator Marina Lukić presented the HORECACCESS project and the tools created to empower people (who have contact with the service sector) to make their services in the HoReCa sector accessible to people with disabilities and people who face some kind of barrier (elderly people, people with reduced mobility, pregnant women…).

In this sense, during the webinar we presented the created tools:

• Mobile application for providing reliable and accessible services from the HoReCa sector for people with disabilities (available via the Google Play application, where you can download it free of charge),

• Guide to understanding disability for young people,

• Structured guidelines for providing accessible and reliable services to people with disabilities,

• Manual for in-house training of seasonal and other young people engaged in the youth and HORECA sector on providing quality services to young people with disabilities and people in need of various types of support (training material for trainers).

Project assistant Jelena Amzirkov, presented the mobile application to the webinar participants and the online platform where all interested parties can access all mentioned tools completely free of charge, but also do various tests that serve for self-assessment of skills for more inclusive work.

The held webinar is one in a series of activities that are going to happen within the HORECACCESS project, which is supported by the European Union within the Erasmus + program.

For more information on the created tools and contents related to the accessibility of services in the HORECA sector, we invite everyone interested to visit the horrecaccess.eu page.
