The First Job Seeking and Employment Workshops within ALMIT Project

09. Mar 2020.

Immigrants in Serbia face many challenges when it comes to employment. One of the most important aspects is adequate informing about required documents for employment, and another issue is how to prepare for a job interview.

The Serbian project team successfully provided the first job seeking and employment workshops with trainees located in the Tutin Asylum Center and Banja Koviljaca Asylum Center. The workshops were attended by over 20 participants and were realized by facilitators specially trained for career guidance and counseling workshops. Particular focus was placed on developing self-assessment and career management skills, as well as CV writing and job interview preparation. Participants had the opportunity to discuss the most common challenges they encountered when it comes to employment issues and to share previous experiences they faced with.

The workshops were conducted as part of Work Package 5 - Counseling on settlement and job seeking.

ALMIT - Acceleration Of Labor Market Integration Of Immigrants Through Mapping Of Skills And Trainings project aims to find ways to facilitate the integration of migrants into the labor market, and it is funded by the European Union Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI). Partners in Serbia are Belgrade Open School (BOS), Philanthropy, and Municipality of Sid.
