XXVII Generation completes the Future Studies Fall semester

26. Dec 2019.

In the Fall semester of the academic year 2019/2020 students of XXVII Generation of Future Studies attended lectures on two modules, started the internship programme and Alumni2Students mentoring programme, and participated in a number of extra-curricular activities.Through the lectures, that lasted from October 7 to December 25, they had an opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge. On the Skills for the Future module students were developing their emotional intelligence, nonverbal communication, preparing for job interviews and practised presentation and public speaking. By acquiring new skills they enhanced their capacities for better positioning in the modern world of constant changes. Lectures on the Future of the State and Society module give insight in the new trends and tendencies in a number of diverse areas, encouraging a critical and interdisciplinary approach to key issues in international relations, architecture or marketing, among other areas.

The lectures were accompanied by many extra-curricular activities. XXVII Generation attended the special lectures, such as the one on the subject of China, whose rising political and economic influence is a sign of its evergrowing importance in international politics. They visited the exhibition of paintings by Ljuba Popovic in the SASA Gallery. His themes of futurism gave a different and more abstract, but very effective view of the future. They participated in the BOS Book Club where they discussed the themes of guilt and responsibility in the past, applying the conclusions to the present and the future. Students also participated in the Belgrade Open School event dedicated to the International internship day, where some of them talked about their previous experiences as interns and about essential components of a good internship.

In the Fall semester, the internship programme started and first students began their internships in some of the BOS partner institutions and companies. The introductory workshop for the Alumni2Students mentoring programme was held in December. Students met their mentors with whom they will talk about future academic and professional plans, get useful advice and share their visions for the future.

Future Studies continue in the Spring semester when XXVII Generation will attend new lectures, continue internship and mentoring programmes, go to the Teamwork Winter School and do their final projects.
