On Friday, November 15, at the Belgrade Open School, Coaliton 27 organized a meeting between representatives of the European Union Delegation to Serbia and representatives of civil society organizations dealing with environmental issues.
Antoine Avignon and Valentina de Sebastiano attended as a EU delegation representatives, while CSO’s representatives, despite those gathered in Coalition 27, were other civil society organizations from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Bor, Sabac, Smederevo and Vrsac.
The participants of the meeting discussed the progress of the Republic of Serbia in the process of accession to the European Union, Chapter 27 concerning environment and climate change, as well as the participation of civil society organizations in the process through the following topics: water management, nature protection, air protection, governance rights and horizontal legislation (related to Chapter 27), the development of planning and strategic documents in the Republic of Serbia concerning environmental protection and climate change, citizen participation and media coverage of environmental issues.
