Former students of the one-year multidisciplinary educational program of the Belgrade Open School gathered at the donor event to support the implementation of this program and provide new young people with opportunities to participate in it.
Since 1993, the program has brought more than 1200 students, today engaged in high positions at numerous institutions, organizations, companies, and faculties. Different generations, scattered all around the world, working in the most diverse areas – all sharing the same values they acquired at the studies. They represent Alumni Network of the Belgrade Open School.
A new generation of students has the opportunity to become part of this community by applying for the open call until July 31. The program, now called “Future studies” aims to bring together young and ambitious people and provide them with knowledge and skills to become versatile leaders and future bearers of social change in their communities.
Universities and organizations in Serbia rarely maintain relationships with alumni and thus miss the opportunity to understand and exploit the benefits that a network of individuals of similar interests, knowledge, and values can offer.
Alumni of the Belgrade Open School are actively involved in the work of the organization. Within the Future studies, many of them are engaged as lecturers, program committee members or involved in a mentoring program overseeing the growth and personal development of students throughout the year. Often, mentoring turns into both professional cooperation and long-standing friendships.
Belgrade Open School has been implementing this program for 26 years, and the Alumni Network itself has formed 20 years ago, as the organization realized the importance of such network and benefits that caring about its community can have for alumni, students and the organization itself.
