Regardless a better Europe is reflected thorugh resolving a local problem or by fostering regional cooperation, concrete mechanisms for better implementation of public policies, young people will have the opportunity to lead Europe through their vision and solutions presented through 50 awarded ideas within the framework the contest "50 Ideas for Europe".

This contest aimed to encourage young people to present their ideas, that best represent their vision of a better Europe, as well as to encourage a debate on the future of Europe and possible development directions, as well as further facilitating the linking of young people and promotion of the Youth Capital of Europe for 2019 - Novi Sad.

Within the promotional activities of the competition more than 40 info sessions were realized through which more than 7,000 young people were informed about the competition and the project itself, while in the period from November 2018 to May 2019, 500 young people, individually or in the team, created more than 300 ideas to one of the thematic units of the competition:

  • Mobile Europe and Travelling
  • Future Jobs for Europe
  • Inclusive Europe
  • Tech-Europe
  • Eco-friendly Europe
  • Europe for You(th)

In total, 50 ideas were awarded, which were created by 80 young people from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Czech Republic and Montenegro. Decision about awarded ideas, you can find HERE.

All awarded youth will have the opportunity to participate in Creative Hub in Novi Sad from 26th  to 28th of  June together with representatives of the youth sector from Novi Sad, with the aim to multiply the energy and creativity of young people through a three-day intensive forum for the development of ideas within which the rewarded participants have the opportunity to further shape their ideas and devise their joint implementation - whose implementation is planned for the second half of the current and 2020.

Presentations of all ideas within the online publications will be available at the Belgrade Open School website in July.

The project is realized by the Belgrade Open School and 9 partner organizations from the Danube Region, and it is supported by the European Capital of Youth Novi Sad (Youth Capital of Europe Novi Sad - OPENS) with the aim to contribute to the active participation of young people in the design and implementation of innovative ideas throughout Europe. The project is financed from the budget of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Vojvodina Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth and the City of Novi Sad in order to achieve the goals of the Youth Capital of Europe 2019. # OPENS2019 #EYC2019
