Mentoring for youth is still in infancy in Serbia. The existence of mentoring programs of support, especially for youth from vulnerable groups, is of crucial importance for the development of their potentials, skills and the acquisition of better opportunities in the labor market.

In order to bring the mentoring closer to the youth "millennia" the online tools and Android application for mobile phones is being prepared, which will provide additional support through e-mentoring.

These are some of the topics that we discussed during the third VM-Pro -validation of youth mentoring  project partnership meeting - validation of mentoring for youth. The meeting was held in Istanbul from 31 January to 1 February 2019. At the meeting, we discussed the achievements in the project in Serbia, but also in the countries where the activities are conducting out parallel: Italy, Turkey, Belgium and Bulgaria. In Istanbul, we had the opportunity to communicate notes and suggestions from the consultations "Social inclusion and empowerment of youth from vulnerable groups" within the National Advisory Board, to consider the suggestions received and present the plan of a six-month program of mentoring for youth in Serbia within VM-pro project. In addition, the meeting was an opportunity to present the final versions of the Extended Code of practice for conducting youth mentoring programme  and the Self-assessment system for external validation as a part of a blended-assessment model, which are widely available to mentors, co-ordinators of mentoring programs, teachers and all those interested in initiating new or improving existing mentoring programs.

The main message of the meeting is that the VM-pro project is a small, but significant move towards the validation of mentoring and that the created tools have a lot of space to last and to integrate into some new initiatives, and that we have to work hard to pilot the mentoring for the youth so it would be fruitful.
