Belgrade Open School presents you the eight edition of the monthly newsletter “Energy, Climate and Environment”.
In light of the dynamic development of public policies in the field of environment, climate change and energy - both at national and global level - we think it is important to keep up with trends for all of us interested in these issues. There are many sources of information, as well as events, and it is not always easy to keep track of all of them. We prepared for you the overview of the most important news and events in the previous month, at the level of Serbia, the region, the European Union and at the global level.
The consensus on human impact on climate change was once again confirmed at the global level. The European Parliament has agreed on defining new waste management targets, which would lead to increasing the amount of recycled waste. As for the region, financing energy efficiency and reparation of energy facilities with bank subsidies. The latest EU Commission Annual Report on Serbia’s progress underlines that little progress has been achieved in Chapter 27. Local municipalities face challenges such as water pollution and poor waste management, which then causes environmental, health and economic expenses.
These are just some of the topics you can find out more about in the eight issue of the “Energy, Climate and Environment” newsletter, which can be downloaded here. You can access the newsletter archive on this link.
If you have any suggestions on the topics that you would like to read about in our newsletter, or you have any other proposal, feel free to get in touch via email mirjana.jovanovic@bos.rs .
Best regards until the next issue!
