On Wednesday, 25th of May, within the conference ,,Refugee crisis two years after: Past and the future of Balkan route’’, organized by Faculty of political sciences, project ALMIT was presented. The participants of the conference were representatives from various civil society organizations, students and professors of the Faculty of political sciences, as well as academics which are dealing with migration issues in the European countries.
During the first day of the conference ’’Refugee crisis two years after: Past and the future of Balkan route’’, organized by the Faculty of political sciences and supported by EU, a round table ’’Work with migrants and refugees: Experience of NGOs in Serbia’’ was organized. Conference was opened by prof. dr Jovan Teokarević, dean of Interdisciplinary master studies of Southeast Europe, which was highlighted the importance of the topic and explained the beginnings of the project Migrate, established in the wish to gather of group of experts in the topic of migration issues. The participants of the round table were from following civil society organizations: Belgrade center for human rights, Group 484, NGO Atina, Konrad Adenauer foundation, Refugee Aid Serbia, Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac, Center for family shelter and adoption and Belgrade open schools. Representatives from different organizations presented their work in the area of refugee issues, and Božidar Dimić, project coordinator from Belgrade open school, during the conference has presented the project ALMIT - Acceleration Of Labour Market Integration Of Immigrants Through Mapping Of Skills And Trainings. Besides the presentation of central project activities and segments, we had an opportunity to get a feedback from the partners from various NGOs and academics in the area of migration, in order to improve the work on the project. This event was also the opportunity to connect and unite our efforts with the important NGOs in the topic, and improve our work in the refugee issues, and for that we are very thankful to the Faculty of political sciences for invitation.
The aim of ALMIT project is to contribute to social inclusion of refugees, through support and creation of interventions for their faster inflow and integration to the labour market. Project will be realized in the period from the 1st of January 2018 to 30th of June 2020, and it is supported by the EaSI - Programme for Employment and Social Innovation of European Commission.
