Belgrade Open School brings you an overview of news in fields of Energy, climate and environment for December, through the fourth edition of "Energy, Climate and Environment" newsletter.
December was marked by intensive legislative activities in the region and EU in energy, energy efficiency, waste management and climate change. Air quality continued to jeopardize health of citizens of the region, and yet plans for the construction of new thermal power plants have continued. In Serbia, local self-government units continued to deal with the challenges of introducing energy management systems. Global topics were about a trend of withdrawing investments from the fossil fuel sector and establishing the largest greenhouse gas trading system.
