Around the World in One Breath

05. Dec 2017.

On Tuesday, December 5, a lecture was held in the premises of the Belgrade Open School entitled "Around the World in One Breath", which was given by the lecturer Damir Nađ, a participant of BOS's Share&Envison event. BOS gathered its alumni, associates, and employees at this evening gathering.

Damir Nađ, a former employee of NIS, who decided to leave an enviable position in the company and set off on a trip around the world, shared his anecdotes, descriptions, and photos of an unforgettable adventure worth 4 continents and more than 20 countries. He talked about preparations for the journey, the idea for such an undertaking and the experience he has had on this journey, which lasted over 200 days. He also shared the many dilemmas he encountered during this adventure of a lifetime.

What can Cuba, Peru, Tanzania, Cape Verde and Iran teach us about ourselves? What does it look like to return to the "real world" after seeing the "whole world"? What did Damir draw as the most important lesson of this trip? What did he learn during his stay with Masai tribe in Tanzania, climbing Machu Picchu, or visiting tobacco plantations in Cuba? How does Iran look like, how modern is it, how safe is it? How to cross the border crossing, which is famous for the amount of cocaine that passes over it? How did he endure the altitude of 3400m above sea level in the city of La Paz in Bolivia? How does an encounter with military police in Nairobi, Kenya look like?

These are just some of the adventurous stories of this world traveler.

His story is about coming out of the comfort zone and the participants had the opportunity to hear a story, which for many reasons is very specific, extraordinary and very motivating.

The Belgrade Open School within its activities continues to deliver special lectures for representatives of BOŠ alumni organization, its associates, partners, and employees.
